The most important question I ask myself.

Fear controls what you ignore.

You know how everything seems easier in retrospect?

Well, that's normal. You have the gift of hindsight—something unavailable to you when you were in the trenches fighting for every last bit of sanity as you worked your way through each difficult challenge.

The next time you face those same challenges?

They're easy-peasy. You already have what you need:

  • Real-life experience
  • The steps that brought you success
  • The confidence that you've done it before

Now, let me ask you:

What if you could have these benefits of retrospect BEFORE you go through your next challenge?

Well, you can't have 100% of them beforehand. But, you can get a lot closer than the 0% you have when going alone!

How?

By leveraging someone who has done it all before and already has 100% of the benefits.

In other words: Investing in yourself to get the immediate benefits of retrospect instead of going through heavy costs of lost time, painful mistakes, and missed opportunities.

The right person brings even more important things to the table:

  • They help you get outside of your own head so you can focus on the acute actions that matter most.
  • They provide a safety net that effectively keeps you from failing.

Look, you're going to reach your goals. You wouldn't be in my tribe if you weren't a go-getter who's eager to build your own business and live a lifestyle that feels like you're the luckiest person alive.

I don't care if you're starting from scratch or if you're just trying to break through the $250K/year ceiling.

The questions are:

  • How long do you want to spend getting there?
  • How terrifying do you want the journey to be?

These are questions I constantly ask myself. I learned a long time ago that we have way more resources available to us than just money. Every day, we have access to time, energy, relationships, and money.

They're all linked together, and you cannot leverage one without affecting the others.

Let me give you an example:

When I started to switch my focus from my corporate client work toward building a community online with brilliant minds like yourself, I recognized that I was literally starting from scratch.

In my youth, I probably would have spent years screwing around, making mistakes, wasting time, and missing tons of opportunities for compound interest to help me. All while convincing myself that I "saved money."

What an idiot.

But, this time?

I had a few more gray hairs. I also had stacks of "retrospect gifts" that proved to me that I would make much quicker progress if I invested in people who knew what they were doing and just did what they said.

In my case, I grew a quality following quickly and maxed out my available coaching client slots within a matter of weeks. I spent over $30K on coaches that helped me build my foundations, and I made much more than that from what I learned from them.

And here's what that reinforced for me:

All the time I would have spent screwing around would have not only cost me the profit that I made. It would have also cost me hundreds or maybe even thousands of hours of work. It would have destroyed my energy. It would have taxed my relationships I probably would have had little to show for it.

You've seen this countless times. You may have even experienced it yourself. I know I have.

What we have to remember is this:

The more your desired outcome is worth to you, the more it's worth investing in to get their as soon as possible.

There are only two reasons people don't act on this:

  • Ignorance
  • Fear

Ignorance isn't an issue if you've read this far.

But Fear? Fear will stop at nothing to keep you where you are right now. It's terrified that you're going to destroy your limiting beliefs and start working toward a business that piles up profits and removes money concerns from your life entirely.

It can't stand the thought of you transforming into the person who has control over their life and confidently moves toward their goals with each step.

If you're going to live a life without regrets, you need to recognize how Fear is trying to screw you, and you must defeat it.

If you're like me, that means asking yourself this one powerful question when making any decision:

"What would I do if I knew I couldn't fail?"

Every single time I ask this question to myself, I feel a spark of energy inside that disarms Fear and reveals my true desires.

So, my friend, that's what I'm challenging you to ask yourself today.

Take a few minutes right now to think about where you want to go. Then, ask yourself this question:

"What would I do if I knew I couldn't fail?"

Next, send me your answer! I love hearing from you all, and I respond to everyone.

The conversation might just spark the insight that changes the trajectory of your life.

What do Nike, Apple, and Coca-Cola have in common?Yeah, they're all household name brands who create the hottest advertising and dominate their markets. But that's not the common trait I'm covering today. What they all have in common is that they sell one thing: Products. Well, technically, they use their products to sell ideas, but that's a topic for a different email. For now, I want you to think about the tangible goods that they sell: Shoes Electronics Carbonated diabetes juice...

A lesson in how to use your Competition against themselves. I have to catch a flight soon to go direct a video shoot, so let's get to it. There are 3 massive mistakes most people make when it comes to their Competition: Denying they exist Ignoring them Copying them Even if you're not making any of these, I bet you're not using your Competition as you should. More on that after I break down the three mistakes. Denying they exist Any time I hear "I don't really have any competition," all I hear...

Did you win the lottery when you were born? I feel that way sometimes. Certainly not in the financial sense, but in the tribal sense. You see: Your influences shape your reality. Positive. Negative. It doesn't matter. The concept that you "you are the average of the five people you hang out with most" is true. In life. In business. In everything. I was thinking about this while driving back from Colorado with my family yesterday. We were discussing Father's Day, and I was still reflecting on...
